ABOUT
Our Team
Pro-Black. Pro-Queer. Pro-Women.
We’re not just a Black-led, queer-led, woman-led nonprofit. The Black diaspora is baked into everything we do. We center Black freedom, Black joy, and Black liberation. We name the compounded impact of racism, homophobia, and transphobia on undocumented queer folx, on Black transwomen, on unhoused LGBTQIA+ youth, and gender-nonconforming loves. We name the ways that women are marginalized in work life, and design specific Beloved practices to center women, specifically women of color and queer women.
The Trellis Model.
The Trellis is our management philosophy. We believe that, as part of the human condition, we are always learning and growing in different ways. We designed The Trellis because we want to be intentional about how our team members grow. In the Trellis, we name the competencies and ways of working that we value, and define the ways that we’ll support team members to further develop those competencies.
