Maria Patrizia Santos is the Associate Director of Research at Beloved Community. She is a social epidemiologist who specializes in race/ethnicity, social and economic disparities, and belongingness.
Maria Patrizia joined Beloved Community to further advance the impact of mixed-methods research on racial and economic equity.
With seven years of mixed-methods research experience and a portfolio of double-digit peer-reviewed publications, Maria Patrizia focuses on diverse contexts, addressing topics like government health interventions, social inequities in malnutrition, food insecurity, and practices for equity in K-12 education.
She holds a Master of Science in Biostatistics from Tulane University, where she is currently a PhD student in Epidemiology. Maria Patrizia is located in New Orleans, where she also dances professionally with Casa Samba.
