Stephanie Taylor is an Equity Leader and change agent with 20 years experience serving youth, families, and communities in the nonprofit sector. With expertise in leadership coaching, strategic planning, operations, and board governance, Stephanie has devoted her career to building the capacity of nonprofit organizations and operationalizing strategies to maximize impact. Her passion for operational strategy and commitment to equity converge in her role as Chief Operating Officer at Beloved Community Inc. In this role, she leads a “people first” operational strategy designed to support the sustainable growth and expansion of Beloved Community Inc.
Stephanie most recently served the YMCA of Greater Houston as Chief Operating Officer where she provided leadership and strategic direction to youth, family, health/wellness, and active older adult programming as well as local board development across the Houston Y’s 20 locations. Prior to joining the Houston YMCA, Stephanie served as a Resource Director with the YMCA of the USA supporting the CEOs and boards of 27 YMCA’s across PA and NJ in setting strategic direction for their Ys and shifting their culture to one of ongoing strategic visioning, collaboration, and greater impact.
Stephanie holds an MBA (Eastern Univ., PA) in Nonprofit Management and a B.S. in Sports Management (High Point Univ., NC). She grew up in Minneapolis, MN and serves Beloved Community Inc. from Houston, TX. Her volunteer service has included serving as Chair of the Board at Ready, Willing and Able, a transitional housing nonprofit; the Strategic Planning Committee of Community Partnership School, an Independent School; and service as board member and Co-Chair for two board committees of a philanthropic foundation.
